A single model describing the operation of the company allows unifying business processes. One of the most obvious ways to implement this feature is to automate the reporting of the company based on the relevant requests to the storage of corporate data. With the help of BI systems you can solve the problem of compiling and distributing reports once and for all: documents will be created automatically on the schedule and will be available to all authorized employees. All information can be translated into the desired format – MS Word, MS Excel, Power Point, and PDF.
It is very easy to create a unique request: the user must drag the required Meta data in the layout of the new document, select the time interval, grouping levels and type of representation (pivot table, chart, three-dimensional diagram, etc.). Next, the system will generate the necessary code of treatment to individual tables of the repository, if necessary, proposing to clarify the logic of the query.
A powerful tool for business management is the system of KPI (Key Performance Indicator), which verifies periodically a definite set of data. If the value of the parameter approaches the critical mark, the system generates automatically and sends warnings to the specified customers.
When solving the analytical problems connected with complex calculations, projections, scenario modeling “what-if”, etc., a special technology of analysis OLAP (On-Line Analytical Processing) is applied. Its basis is a logical multidimensional model, using which you are able to review the space performance of the organization from diverse angles – for example, sales performance, the influence of ads, interaction with providers, etc.
The newest method of in-depth study of data, which is widely used in recent times, is Data Mining technology (knowledge extraction”). Its main goal – is to find hidden patterns, relationships and linkages in the entire array of data. The results are models of various types, allowing classifying and grouping situations and objects, predicting their behavior, etc. It is essential that such models are constructed automatically using algorithms based on specialized mathematical and statistical methods.
